Tips to make an everlasting first impression at work

Whether you like it or not, you have less than 30 seconds to impress someone. If tomorrow is your first day at work, you will only get this short time window to make a long-lasting first impression. So, are you ready? Silvana Suder, traveler, and a blogger shares some tips on how to make a perfect first impression.
Here’s what he has to say:

Be on time
If you want to make a killer first impression, the first and foremost thing you can do is arrive on time. It shows that you are serious about the work and capable of handling responsibility.
Dress well (won’t be underdressed or overdressed)
It’s simple and clear that it will not look decent to enter a cooperate office wearing something casual. Believe it or not, the way you dress will subconsciously go a long way and you have no control over it.
Your body language speaks
Former creative director of Royal Opera House, Deborah Bull once said, “Body language is a powerful tool. We had body language before we had speech, and apparently, 80% of what you understand in a conversation is read through body, not words.”
Make sure you:
Stand confidently (keep your shoulders back and head high).
Try to keep your vocal pitch low.
Smile and maintain eye contact (wherever needed).
Say No to your mobile phone
Allowing mobile phones use in office doesn’t mean you use it to an extent that it gets in the way of your work.
Ask questions
You are new at work; there are a lot of things that you don’t know. So, ask questions and clear your doubts.
If HR or your senior is giving you instructions; listen to it carefully and note down important ones.
